Can I visit the setting prior to choosing your service?
Yes, conditionally. You should not be exhibiting any symptoms of Covid-19 or have been in contact with anyone who is . Your temperature will be taken prior to entering the setting. The physical visit would be scheduled for a time where no other children or adults will be present and will be time limited with the aim of simply looking around the setting. We can then follow up with video calls and/or phone calls where further information can be provided and any questions can be answered.
During the Covid-19 pandemic services everywhere are taking precautionary steps to limit the risks of spreading the infection.
Do you provide snacks/meals?
I provide fruit and drinks as standard and lunch or snacks at an additional charge.
Can you prepare vegan/vegetarian food for my child?
Absolutely! I am more than happy to cater to your child's dietary preferences and needs.
What about nappies, wipes, clothing etc?
We all have our preferences about these things so it is best that you bring along nappies, wipes, cream and sunscreen. Please provide a change of clothes for your child which is appropriate for the weather; hats & gloves, sun hat, cardigans or lightweight coat. Please also ensure your child has appropriate footwear for playing in the garden, outings or walks so that their little feet are protected whatever the weather.
Do I sign a contract?
You will only be asked to sign a contract once we agree the specifics of your child's care. This is necessary and will protect both you and I. The contract will contain a 4 week trial period, during which time no notice is required by either party should things not work out. After 4 weeks, both parties are required to give 4 weeks notice to terminate the contract.
Do you do nursery/home/school drop-offs & pick-ups?
I am happy to discuss this with you at our initial meet and greet. Here you can let me know any of the locations and we can agree how I can best meet your needs.
What is the maximum number of children you can care for?
As much as I would love to fill the setting, in consideration of the safety and wellbeing of the children in attendance I try to limit my numbers so that I can ensure that I am fully available to the children who are with me and am able to keep things fun and relaxed.
How do you ease the settling in period?
Every child is different and getting used to a new carer can be difficult for some children and upsetting for parents.
I will work with you to help your child (and you) to settle. This will be tailored to meet your particular circumstances but could include a longer settling in period or shorter initial sessions etc.
